One of our favourite wedding venues to flower is just 5 minutes down the road from our studio, here in Bude, North Cornwall. As recommended suppliers at Launcells Barton, we work here regularly – we know Lara, Matt and their team really well, and we know each of their beautiful spaces like the back of our hands.
We are very much looking forward to being part of Launcells Barton Wedding Open Day on Sunday 23 March 2025 where you can meet recommended suppliers, see the venue styled, while enjoying a glass of fizz. To book your appointment, please visit the Launcells Barton website.

5 reasons we love to work at Launcells Barton
The walled garden
As gardeners and lovers of the outdoors, we love the stunning grounds at Launcells Barton, which can feel positively Mediterranean on a warm Summers’ day. When the sun shines (as it often does here in Cornwall), then many couples choose the walled garden with its wooden arbour to exchange their vows. This beautifully cared for garden with its ubiquitous Cornish Hydrangeas as well as a florist’s dream collection of shrubs, is the perfect place for an outdoor ceremony. We love adding a gorgeous floral touch to this beautiful space, to really give your guests the wow factor as they take their seats.

The historic spaces
As a lover of all things historic, I adore the old spaces at Launcells – the ancient church just across the way, the beautiful manor house (does everyone have a fantasy of living there?) and the mill barn too, where many couples choose to exchange their vows. On the morning of your wedding day we love to head over to the manor house for hugs and general excitement while we deliver the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. A moment in amongst the hustle and bustle of getting ready, while we all get excited about flowers is, of course, a wonderful part of my job as a wedding florist. There are often happy tears, and we don’t mind those, but it can annoy your make up artist if she has just applied your mascara. They are always very kind about that – sorry MUAs!

The wild Cornish landscape
We take our floral design cues from both the Cornish hedgerows, and Cornwall’s beautiful gardens. Our slightly wild floral style, using the most eclectic mix of locally grown blooms, seems to sit quite perfectly within this beautiful, laid back Cornish landscape. One of our most popular floral arrangements is a pair of vintage milk churns, which we use to frame our gorgeous couples as they exchange their vows. We love to include these small nods to both Launcell Barton’s heritage as a diary farm as well as its continued use as a working, organic farm. From wooded valleys, to acres of fields, and of course the wild Atlantic just over the hills, this is a wedding venue for lovers of our wild Cornish natural beauty.

The blank canvas offered by the reception barn
This modern addition to the historic buildings of Launcells Barton offers you a space that you can truly make your own. Will you choose round tables, or perhaps you like the idea of long trestle style tables, will you choose to have sparkly fairy lights, or perhaps a disco ball? We have helped to decorate this space many times, and each wedding feels different here. Sometimes we had pops of colour in the form of collections glass bud vases, sometimes we fill larger bowls with flowers that sit at the centre of your guest tables, and other times we generously fill jam jars with locally grown flowers (which make perfect gifts for some of your guests to take home). We can often be found on the day before your wedding suspended from ladders, adding greenery to the barn’s beams and its stunning nine metre long window ledge. We love working with our couples to bring their floral dreams to life in this space.

We also love that Launcells Barton is just down the road from our studio
As a planet positive business, we want the flowers that you choose for your wedding day to have as light an environmental footprint as possible. We don’t fly in flowers from across the globe, instead opting for flowers grown just down the road instead. We are a certified carbon literate business, have accreditation with the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, and we are a member florist of the Sustainable Floristry Network. Each year we monitor and reduce our carbon emissions, aiming to become a net zero business by 2028. It make sense to us, to not travel vast numbers of miles to deliver weddings across the country (or county even – Cornwall is HUGE – and well served by other florists) and so we prefer to work locally. We’re very lucky to have this wonderful wedding venue on our doorstep and love working with our couples who choose it for their wedding day.
